The purpose of the privacy policy is to provide maximum transparency regarding the information collected and used by the website.

In compliance with the obligations deriving from national regulations (Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003, Personal Data Protection Code, and subsequent amendments) and European regulations (European Regulation for the protection of personal data no. 679/2016, GDPR), this website respects and protects the confidentiality of visitors and users, making every effort to be not detrimental to the rights of users.

This website does not publish advertisements, nor it uses data for sending advertisements, but it makes use of third party services in order to improve the use of the website; these third parties may collect data from users and use them to send personalized advertisements on other websites. However, this website makes every effort to protect your privacy and minimize the collection of personal information. For example, the website sometimes uses YouTube videos, which are set to not send cookies (and therefore, not collect data) until you start the video. Indeed, you can see that there is only one placeholder instead of the video. The website also uses social plugins to make sharing articles on social networks easier. These plugins are configured so that they only send cookies (and, possibly, collect data) after the user has clicked on the plugin.

Processing subjects

In accordance with the laws in force, the data controller is the website administrator, Ovinus Secretariat, which can be contacted through the CONTACTS section.

Legal basis of the processing

This website processes data primarily on the basis of the consent given by the users. The consent is given through the banner at the bottom of the page, or through the use or consultation of the website, as a conduct. By using or consulting the website, visitors and users agree to this privacy policy and consent to the processing of their personal data in relation to the methods and purposes described below, including any disclosure to third parties if necessary to provide a service. Further consents related to the specific purpose of the service are collected through the communication or service request forms.

The provision of data and, therefore, consent to the collection and processing of data is optional. The User can deny consent and/or revoke a consent he/she had already given at any time (via the banner placed at the bottom of the page or the browser settings for cookies, or the link Contacts). However, denying consent may make it impossible to provide certain services and the experience of browsing the website would be compromized.

The data for the security of the website and for the prevention of abuse and SPAM, as well as the data for the analysis of site traffic (statistics) in aggregate form, are processed on the basis of the legitimate interest of the Data Controller in the protection of the website and the users themselves. In such cases, the user has always the right to object to the processing of data (see section User rights).

Such data are never used for the identification or profiling of the user and are periodically deleted. No consent is required.

– Ancillary activities

Communication of data to third parties that perform functions necessary or instrumental to the operation of the service (eg comment box), and to allow third parties to perform technical, logistical and other activities on our behalf. Suppliers have access only to personal data that are necessary to perform their duties and undertake not to use them for other purposes; they are also required to process personal data in accordance with applicable laws.
